Post-NCAA Stress Disorder

In the spirit of the World Series, I have been thinking about my own college softball experience this week. I played softball at Bellarmine University for four years that I would relive over and over again if I could. Even as an underclassman, I knew I needed to bust my ass because my time I had left playing softball competitively was running out. I played in my first t-ball league at three years old. Competing at the college level is the goal of many athletes throughout their entire lives, but, in reality, it is just the home stretch toward retirement for the vast majority of us. The Art of Horse Race Betting

In honor of voyaging down to Keeneland for the first time this weekend, I am trying to do a little research on the art of horse race betting. This will only be my second time at a race track (embarrassing for someone who lived in Louisville for four years, I understand). So, just like I will need to condition my tolerance for a day of drinking, I need to condition my brain to lose the least amount of money as possible, maybe even come out on top, with a little luck. Say Your Prayers and Go to Chvrches

Chvrches (pronounced “churches”) is a Scottish electronic group that I first heard live at Lollapalooza. I was very excited when I found out last week that they were coming to the Madison Theater in Covington, KY. I was initially impressed by Chvrches not only because of the pop energy they created with sounds and lights, but that their lead singer, Lauren Mayberry, has a beautiful, “un-warped” voice.
